Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 7, 2026
IO Home Lab is a privately operated home-lab service. This policy explains how its optional Gmail integration uses Google user data.
Google data the integration accesses
When the mailbox integration is enabled, IO uses the Google permissions shown on the consent screen to read and search messages, manage message labels and read status, create drafts, and send messages as configured. It processes message headers and content needed to handle mail requests. If the owner uses the email-to-print feature, the configured PDF attachment may also be processed for printing.
How data is used
Mailbox data is used to identify authorized requests, carry out configured home-lab tasks, maintain request status, and prepare or send the replies those workflows require. IO does not use Gmail data for advertising, sell it, or use it to build a data-broker profile.
Where data is processed
OAuth credentials and operational state are stored on the operator's private home-lab systems. Messages remain in Gmail. A configured local IO service on the home network may process eligible messages to help prepare a reply. For a request that invokes another configured integration, the details needed to fulfill that request may be sent to that service. Those services are selected and managed by the home-lab owner.
Sharing and messages
IO does not make mailbox content public or share it for advertising. Configured automated workflows may send acknowledgements, status messages, or other replies. Reply-assistance drafts remain drafts until the mailbox owner sends them. A request may cause the relevant information to be processed by the home-lab service or the integration needed to fulfill it.
Retention and control
Messages and sent mail are retained in Gmail under the account owner's settings. IO may retain limited local request state and logs needed to operate and troubleshoot the service. The owner can stop the integration, remove its local data, or revoke its Google account access from Google Account security settings.
Security
Access is intended for the operator's private home-lab environment and is limited by the Google permissions granted to the integration. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure.
